Kim Uskovich

Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that Kim Uskovich has joined the firm as a partner in its Dallas office. Uskovich will be a member of the firm’s Financial Services & Capital Markets industry team and its Private Wealth practice group.

Uskovich focuses her practice on the complexities associated with developing and implementing estate plans for individuals, including estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Her trust and estates practice is comprehensive in scope and includes all phases of trust, probate and heirship administrations, and she has broad experience in the transfer of complex business assets, such as oil and gas interests.

“Kim’s arrival adds strength to our already formidable line-up of private wealth lawyers,” said Eric Ess, the head of Husch Blackwell’s Private Wealth practice group. “We will continue to be selective in adding to our team, but we are also always looking for lawyers who are talented and culturally compatible. Kim is a rising star in Texas private wealth law, and we are excited to have her join the firm.”

In addition to her work in private wealth, Uskovich has substantial experience in Texas liquor law, advising clients on licensing, permitting compliance, and enforcement matters with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC). She has particular experience counseling large entertainment facilities, including sports arenas, amusement parks, and music venues, and regularly assists clients in obtaining the appropriate alcohol permits and licenses and maintaining compliance with TABC rules and regulations.

“Nationwide, Husch Blackwell has nearly 50 attorneys in private wealth law, and the idea of being a part of such a large and well-recognized group was very appealing to me,” said Uskovich. “At the same time, Texas is a world all to itself, and there is ample opportunity for me to grow my practice and the firm’s brand here.”

Uskovich served as president of the Tarrant County Probate Bar Association in 2014-15 and is a member of the Tax & Estate Planning Section of the Tarrant County Bar Association. She received a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Hawaii and graduated summa cum laude from Texas Wesleyan School of Law, now Texas A&M University School of Law.
